Architectural Metals (Cast Iron, Steel, Pressed Tin, Copper, Aluminum <br />and Zinc) <br />1. All metal materials, features, details and ornamentation of <br />the buildings in the park shall be preserved. This also <br />includes all metal parts of all- fountain;, monuments, <br />memorials, plaques, street lights, drinking fountains, etc. <br />• 2. Original or later contributing metal materials, features, <br />details and ornamentation shall be retained and, if necessary, <br />repaired by patching, splicing or reinforcing the metal using <br />recognized preservation methods, <br />3. Deteriorated or missing metal materials, features, details and <br />ornamentation shall be replaced with material and elements <br />which match the original in material, color, texture, size, <br />shape, profile and detail of installation. <br />4. When replacement of materials or elements is necessary, it <br />should be based on physical evidence or documentary <br />evidence. <br />5. If using the same material is not technically or economically <br />feasible then compatible substitute materials may be <br />considered. <br />6. Cleaning of metal elements either to remove corrosion or <br />deteriorated paint shall use the: mildest method possible. <br />t 7.• Abrasive cleaning methods, such as low pressure dry grit <br />blasting, may be allowed as long as it does not abrade or <br />damage the :surface. <br />• <br />
