Mr. Oxian also noted that a comment., attributed to Mr. Talley about the suggestion of re—ranking not being relevant to a COA application- had been made by him. Mr. Fine moved that the March minutes be approved as corrected. Mrs. Hostetler seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimously. B. Treasurer's Report , Mr. Wiener distributed a financial statement. Fie noted that about $500 in reimbursements were not specified as to the purpose of the expenditure. He is sorting them out but most of the costs are related to travel expenses. Mr. Talley asked if the National Register and other grant funding was not reflected in this report. Mr. Duvall responded that this was not entirely correct, stating that the grant cashflow was not included -but that some expenses listed did reflect our match funding to the grant projects, most notably travel reimbursement to Ms. Greiff and photographic costs. C. Correspondence Mr. Duvall indicated that there was no correspondence to report which was not discussed elsewhere in the agenda. D. Committee Reports 1. Budget & Finance Mr. Duvall indicated that there was no report for this month. • 3. Legal Mrs. DeRose was absent this meeting. Mr. Duvall stated that he had sent violation -notices which would be covered in his staff report. 4. Historic Districts , A) Mrs. Choitz distributed a report for the Three Year Plan prepared by the committee. Mr. Oxian asked what portion of the Near Northwest Neighborhood was included here . Mrs. Choitz responded that only -a small ,area was included: Mr. Duvall clarified that the area presently under consideration was approximately described as Madison and Marion Streets between Lafayette and Chapin and the side streets adjacent. Mrs Choitz observed that past efforts to designate more extensive districts in.this area had met resistance. Mr. Oxian indicated that it would be more descriptive, to use the title :"Kankakee Race District" to further describe the area under consideration. Mr. Oxian expressed resistance to the establishment of rural Historic Districts at this time. The report was unanimously approved. B) Mr. Oxian reported on his discussion with a representative from the Monroe Park neighborhood to resume discussions on ,designating some portion of this neighborhood as a Local Historic District. A preliminary meeting is being organized and this activity will be undertaken by the Districts Committee. 5. Historic Landmarks a. Recommendation s to the County Council Mr. Oxian reported that 30750 Inwood Rd. and 165£31 Chandler Blvd. are still awaiting completion of survey work by Staff. • b. Leeper Park Proposal Mr. Talley reported that Betsy Harriman .of Parks Dept. has been notified of the HPC's intention to proceed with second reading of Local Landmark Designation. Second reading will be placed on the agenda for the June meeting. The standards and Guidelines have been provided to Parks Dept., Common Council
