the Roberson plan which retains both walks and puts a tree and
shrubs between them.
8) At the left of the back door (as you face the house from the
vard) plant a Carlesi (Koreanst)ice) Viburnum.
9) At the right of the back door plant a Mugo Pine between the
steps and the air conditioner; put a goldflame spirea on the other
side of the air conditioner; and add a trellis and plant a red climbing
rose just beyond. These are shown on the Roberson plan.
9) Plant an Amelanchier tree (a flowering white Juneberry)
along the southeast fence, as shown on the Barncourt plan. This is
near the Crumlishes' kitchen window, so we consulted with them and
they approved this plan.
At one time there was a magnolia tree in the back yard, and
our original intention was to replace it. However, both landscapers
recommended strongly against it; the yard is too small to support a
tree of that shape and size. In fact, we had to replace the wooden
siding along the back of the house that had been damaged by contact
with the magnolia.
Please let me know if you have questions about any of these
initial steps we would like to take. I hope that you can follow them;
this is rather complex! Call meat home (237-1972) or work (631-
7665) if I can provide any more information.
Marsha Stevenson
