I Minutes of the Regular Meeting <br />of the <br />Historic Preservation Commission <br />Regular Monthly Meeting 7th Floor County Commissioner's <br />7:30 p.m. Conference Room, County -City Building <br />January 16, 1995 <br />I. Call to Order <br />The meeting was called to order at 7:35 P.M. <br />II. Roll Call <br />Members present: Mrs. Catherine Hostetler, Mr. John Oxian, Ms. Jewel Van <br />Dalsen, Mrs. Janeanne Petrass, Mr. Jed Bide, Mr. Jerry Weiner, Father Richard <br />Bullene as Architectural Historian. <br />Staff present: Mrs. Aladean DeRose - Legal Counsel, Mr. David Duvall - <br />Director and Ms. Christine Anderson - Administrative Assistant. <br />Members Absent: Ms. Lora Spaulding and Mrs. Joann Sporleder (Leave of <br />Absence), and Mrs. Martha Choitz. <br />Also present: Marsha Stevenson, John & Nola Mynsberge, and Ed Talley. <br />III. Public Hearing <br />A. Certificates of Appropriateness <br />1. 1840 Kessler Blvd. -- LL -- Driveway replacement and widening <br />Ms. Anderson read the staff report. President Oxian asked the owners if they <br />had anything to present. Mr. Mynsberge discussed the difficulties of backing <br />out of such a narrow driveway. He mentioned the apron on the driveway would <br />most likely be replaced as well because it is a lower grade than the street. <br />Commissioner Bullene inquired if Mr. Mynsberge intended to change the <br />dimensions of the apron or just raise the grade. Mr. Mynsberge stated they <br />would just resurface the apron. Commissioner Eide moved the Certificate of <br />Appropriateness for 1840 Kessler Blvd. be approved. Commissioner Hostetler <br />seconded the motion. The motion passed unanimouslv.- <br />IV. Regular Business <br />A. Approval of Minutes <br />B. Treasurer's Report <br />C. Correspondence <br />Mr. Duvall reported on a questionnaire received from the National Alliance of <br />Historic Preservation Commissions regarding Americans with Disabilities Act. <br />Mr. Duvall welcomed the Commissioners to discuss the subject with him if they <br />wished to add any information to the questionnaire. He asked for specific <br />input on a question asking what building review for ADA had been found to be <br />the most challenging. Mr. Duvall reported receiving a request from the County <br />Board of Commissioners for a' departmental report for the purpose of the State <br />of the COunty Address. Mr. Duvall reported on a request from the YWCA for <br />nominations for their Women of the year award. <br />III D. Committee Reports <br />1. Budget and Finance <br />2. Legal <br />
