V|. New Business <br />A. Proposed New Regulation --"Originality" <br />Mr, Oxian said this regulation was needed to <br />clarify' HPC policy. Briefly, the regulation stated <br />' that HPC standards applied to buildings as they <br />were on the day the district/landmark was declared., <br />-__Jiovvevo�-_the_owoer_cou]dmakeirepai�/� <br />r_�-obanges-�o__-__--_ <br />any ahistorical parte of the building, provided he <br />did so in a historically consistent manner, with <br />HPC approval. <br />Mrs. Sporleder questioned the need for this <br />regulation. Mr. Oxian said it would make a clear <br />policy statement on an issue that cropped up <br />frequently, and caused much disagreement among <br />Commission members, It would save time and <br />argument, but was still sufficiently flexible. <br />Mrm. Choitz moved to adoot the repulation; Mr. <br />VVelsheimer seconded the motion. Mrs. Sporleder, <br />voted aqainst it. Motion aoproved. <br />V||. Hearing of Visitors <br />V|||. Miscellaneous <br />Mr. Oxian and Mrs. Petraas pointed out two corrections <br />to the Commission member address list. <br />Ms. Steele asked the Commission members to nominate <br />candidates for the upcoming Southhold awards <br />presentation. <br />Mr. Pastor intrpducted HPC intern Fritz ValSaint^ a <br />5th -year architecture student from Notre Dame. <br />X|.
