Baumgartner: The only problem is that our <br />xperience has been that if someone considerably <br />nderbids the job, they are not able to finish <br />t half -way through because they cannot afford <br />he rest of the materials. <br />. Cira made a motion to reject the following <br />12 loan bid contracts, in accordance with the <br />recommendation of the Bureau of Housing to <br />Essa Azar of 1059 Portage and to 2) Paul <br />dape of 712 W. Colfax, seconded by Ms. Auburn, <br />d the motion was unanimously carried. <br />c. Commission a roval requested to award a <br />rehabilitation contract in connection with <br />he YWCA Rehabilitation Project of e <br />�onmmity Development program I subject to <br />legal counsel review and South Bend Common <br />Midland Engineering - -- $26,788.10 <br />s. Baumgartner: Again, this comes under <br />e jurisdiction of the Redevelopment <br />mmission. The Bureau of Housing will be <br />tering into a sub- contract with the <br />mmLmity Development Department for the <br />habilitation of the YWCA building, and this <br />Phase I. The only bidder we had was <br />Bland Engineering and it was somewhat <br />ose to our cost estimate. Their reputation <br />excellent and we contemplate no problem <br />th them completing work. Therefore, we <br />e recommending your approval. <br />Cira: How do you know they are going to <br />lete the job efficiently?
