M. <br />Hearing upon the amount of assessments and awards under Condemnation Resolution <br />No. 4 for the appropriation of property of George Hodson and Reece for the opens <br />ing and extension of Orange street through to Birdsell street., The following remonstrat <br />ors appeared as to the amount of assessments: Emanuel R. gills, George Bernhard30 Sarah <br />E. Huston, Napomocyna Koteras, Joseph Talbot, St. Joseph County Loan and Savings Assn. <br />( Mary Paczesny) Henry Geyer, The Indiana, Illinois and Iowa Railroad Company Herman, <br />and Wilhelmina Kabitz, (Ann Tomasziski) Benjiman F. Wagner, Alice M. Nav:;, Emma J. Hickman, <br />Frederick and Theresa Warkentine, James and Emma Mitchell, John Rosinski, Marcella and <br />Maggie Latkowski, John Snhwind; The Board after hearing the arguments of the remonstrators <br />and petitioners find that the assessments as made would in many instances be less than the <br />benefits to the property assessed and accordingly do hereby rescind condemnation resolu-4io <br />tion No. 4 and abondon further proceedings thereunder. <br />Hearing on the assessment rolls and final estimates for the following improv- <br />ments: the Wenger street curb. under Improvement Resolution No.41; the north Lafayette <br />street brick pavement improvement, under Improvement Resolution No. 4; the south Mich- <br />igan street brick pavement improvement, under prior proceedings of the Common Council; <br />the grading of ruerbringer alley under Improvement Pbsolution No. 42; the east Washington <br />street sewer, undcN Tmprovement Resolution_ No.39. In regard to the Wenger street curb the <br />Board find that the work is not yet satisfactory and accordingly must again postpone the <br />confirmation of Improvement Resolution No. 41. Another hearing in this: resolution will <br />be given on Monday December 30th at 11 A. M. Clerk instructed to notify contractor that <br />this work must be satisfactory by that time. In regard to the north Lafayette street brick <br />pavement. No remonstrances were filed and no'remonstrators appeared. The assessment roll <br />filed on December 9, 1901 and the final estimate allowed on December 9 are hereby confir- <br />med. In regard to ruerbringer alley no remonstrances were filed and no remonstrators app- <br />eared, the assessment roll, filed on December 9. 1901 and the final estimate, allowed on <br />December 9. 1901 are hereby confirmed. In regard to the south Michigan street brick pave- <br />ment improvement under prior proceedings of the Council:- Remonstrators appeared and object <br />ed to the quality of the work, claiming the work to be uneven and rough. The Board accord- <br />ingly find that this work should be inspected by the Engineer and a report made to the <br />Board befor this Board can accept the same, and on Monday December 30th, 1901 at 11 A. M. <br />another hearing will be given on this assessment roll and final estimate. The Common Coun- <br />cil having already accepted the work the Board will after hearing the report of the Eng- <br />ineer make such recommendations to the Council as it find proper -In regard to the east <br />
