PUBLIC WORKS AND PROPERTY VACATION JULY 23, 2012 <br />3:30 P.M. <br />Committee Member's Present: Dr. David Varner, Oliver Davis, Valerie Schey <br />Other Council Member's Present: Tim Scott, Henry Davis, Dr. Fred Ferlic <br />Karen White, Derek Dieter <br />Other's Present: Mike Mecham, Kathy Cekanski - Farrand, Mike Schmuhl, Larry <br />Magliozzi, Gary Gilot, Christa Nayder, James Lietzan, Mark Neal, Mark Lyons, Joseph <br />Gelchion <br />Agenda: Bill No. 29 -12 Alley Vacation — Michigan/Madison <br />Bill No. 23 -12 — Alley Vacation — LaSalle /Hill <br />Bill No. 29 -12 - This bill was presented to David Varner's Public Works and Property <br />Vacation Committee by James Lietzan of the engineering firm DLZ. The petitioner <br />asked for the vacation of two alleys allowing the consolidation of properties bounded by <br />Michigan, Madison, and Main St. Mark Lyons from the Building Department reported a <br />favorable recommendation from the Board of Public Works. All city departments <br />signed -off on the petition. After brief discussion Valerie Schey motioned the bill be sent <br />to full Council with a favorable recommendation. All affirmed after Oliver Davis' <br />second. <br />Bill No. 31 -12 - This bill would vacate an alley running west from Hill St. between <br />LaSalle and Madison. Mr. Joseph Gelchion, owner of the property made the <br />presentation. Mark Lyons reported a favorable recommendation from the Board of <br />Public Works. There being no one present to speak for or against Valerie Schey <br />motioned and Oliver Davis seconded the motion that the petition be sent to full Council <br />favorably. All affirmed. <br />Under miscellaneous Councilmember Dieter requested the city engineer study the <br />intersection of Angela Blvd., and W.
