REGULAR MEETING March 11, 2019 <br /> 09-19 FIRST READING ON AN ORDINANCE OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING <br /> ADDITIONAL FUNDS FOR CERTAIN <br /> DEPARTMENTAL AND ENTERPRISE <br /> OPERATIONS IN 2019 OF $200,000 FROM <br /> CONSOLIDATED BUILDING FUND (#600), <br /> $1,715,669 FROM WATER WORKS DEBT <br /> SERVICE (#625), AND ($600,000) FROM <br /> STORM SEWER FUND (#667). <br /> Councilmember John Voorde made a motion to send Bill No. 09-19 to the Personnel and Finance <br /> Committee and Utilities Committee for their March 25th, 2019 meetings for Second Reading and <br /> Public Hearing. Councilmember Jake Teshka seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote <br /> of eight (8) ayes. <br /> UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> There was no unfinished business. <br /> NEW BUSINESS <br /> Council President Tim Scott announced that tomorrow, Tuesday March 12th is the Mayor's State <br /> of the City Address at the Morris Performing Arts Center at 6:00 p.m. <br /> Councilmember Tim Scott stated, The Near Northwest Neighborhood Association is going <br /> through their Master Plan. It is incredible engagement from the citizens,per usual from the NNN. <br /> There is a lot of input into what they want. If you have a change, swing by. <br /> PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br /> Samuel Brown, 222 East Navarre Street, South Bend, IN, stated, I come to you tonight, Mr. Scott, <br /> I would like for you to draft a letter to the South Bend School Board to try and partner up with the <br /> South Bend community. We are requesting to change meetings. You are set by law. It used to be <br /> on a different night, so everyone can make the meetings. They need your input to save our schools. <br /> Simple as that. They can't do it by themselves. You could give them a lot of knowledge. I went <br /> downstate but you veterans would make a difference. I would appreciate it if you did that, Mr. <br /> Scott. I want to make sure their nights aren't the same nights as Council.
