Yes, it is. <br /> Councilmember John Voorde stated, They'll have a beer and work it. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis stated, It should have been worked out before it got up here tonight. <br /> 05-19 PUBLIC HEARING ON AN ORDINANCE TO <br /> VACATE THE FOLLOWING DESCRIBED <br /> PROPERTY: THE EAST/WEST PORTION OF <br /> DUBAIL ST. 29.8' IN WIDTH RUNNING WEST <br /> APPROX. 303' FROM RIGHT-OF-WAY OF S. <br /> OLIVE ST TO PARCEL 018-8102-3875 <br /> Councilmember John Voorde, chair of the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee, <br /> reported that they met this afternoon and send this bill forward with a favorable recommendation. <br /> Lori Gesto, 1705 South Olive Street, South Bend, IN, served as the petitioner for this bill. Ms. <br /> Gesto stated, It is my request to vacate this portion of Dubail. We have, for several years now, <br /> used it as our north driveway. There it is (referencing a picture displayed which is available in the <br /> City Clerk's Office). We would like to continue doing that. We have actually been asked by the <br /> City to vacate this property because of the 2020 plan for Olive Street beautification. So,that is my <br /> request today to be able to do that. <br /> This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and <br /> opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. There were none. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis made a motion to send Bill No. 05-19 to the full Council with a <br /> favorable recommendation. Councilmember Gavin Ferlic seconded this motion which carried by <br /> a voice vote of nine(9) ayes. <br /> Councilmember Oliver Davis interjected, Cool. <br /> 03-19 PUBLIC HEARING ON AN ORDINANCE OF <br /> THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING <br /> CHAPTER SIX OF THE SOUTH BEND <br /> MUNICIPAL CODE BY ADDING A NEW <br /> ARTICLE 14 TITLED RENTAL SAFETY <br /> VERIFICATION PROGRAM <br /> Councilmember Karen White made a motion to accept the second (2nd) substitute version of Bill <br /> No. 03-19. Councilmember Gavin Ferlic seconded this motion which carried by a voice vote of <br /> nine (9) ayes. <br /> Councilmember Jo M.Broden,chair of the Health and Public Safety Committee,reported that they <br /> met this afternoon and send this bill forward with a favorable recommendation with a number of <br /> amendments (reflected in the second(2nd)substitute version). <br /> Suzanna Fritzberg, Deputy Chief of Staff to the Mayor of the City of South Bend with offices <br /> located on the 14th floor of the County-City Building, South Bend, IN, served as a presenter for <br /> this bill. Ms. Fritzberg stated, I will defer to Council if you would like me to go through each of <br /> the changes of the substitute bill as part of this presentation(which is available in the City Clerk's <br /> office). You don't have to say now, but I will run through just a quick overview. <br /> Councilmember Jo M. Broden interjected, I'm good, I've checked them off per what we've <br /> discussed. I know our attorney has checked them off, so, it is up to you all. <br /> Councilmember John Voorde stated, Unless there is a specific request to do so, from Council, <br /> please proceed with your abbreviated version of the presentation. <br /> Ms. Fritzberg continued, Excellent.
