Redevelopers' Obligations <br />Awk The land acquired by the City of South Bend Depart- <br />ment of Redevelopment will be disposed of subject to <br />an Agreement between the Department and the Redeveloper. <br />The Redeveloper will be required by the contractual <br />agreement to observe the Land Use and Building <br />Requirements and Objectives of this Development Plan. <br />They will further be required to submit a redevelop - <br />ment schedule satisfactory to the City of South Bend <br />Department of Redevelopment. The Redeveloper will <br />not be permitted to defer the start of construction <br />for a period longer than that required for the <br />preparation of necessary redevelopment plans, their <br />review, and approval by the City of South Bend <br />Department of Redevelopment. <br />i <br />1. In addition, the following provisions will be <br />included in the Agreement. <br />a. That the Redeveloper will submit to the <br />Department a plan and schedule for the <br />proposed development. <br />b. That the purchase of the land is for the <br />purpose of redevelopment and not for specu- <br />lation. <br />C. That the land will be built upon and <br />improved in conformity with the objectives <br />and provisions of the Development Plan. <br />d. That the building of improvements will be <br />commenced and completed within a reasonable <br />time. <br />e. That the redevelopers, their successors or <br />assigns, agree that there will be no dis- <br />crimination against any person or group of <br />persons on account of race, creed, color,sex, age, <br />national origin, or ancestry in the sale, <br />lease, sublease, transfer, use, occupancy, <br />tenure, or enjoyment of the premises therein <br />conveyed, or improvements erected or to be <br />erected thereon, nor will the Redeveloper <br />himself or any person claiming under or <br />through him establish or permit any such <br />practice or practices of discrimination <br />or segregation with reference to the selection, <br />location, number, use, or occupancy of tenants, <br />lessees, sublessees, or vendees in the premises <br />therein conveyed, or improvements erected or <br />to be erected thereon. <br />-14- 10/3/80 <br />
