VW <br />NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING OF THE CENTRAL <br />DOWNTOWN URBAN RENEWAL PROJECT INDIANA R -66 <br />Notice is hereby given that the Redevelopment Commission of the City <br />of South Bend, Department of Redevelopment did on June 6, 1980 adopt Declara- <br />tory Resolution 615 redeclaring that an area known as the Central Downtown <br />Project, Indiana R -66, located within the corporate limits of the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana, generally described as follows: <br />Central Downtown Project <br />Beginning at a point formed by the intersection of the north right - <br />of -way line of LaSalle Avenue and the west right -of -way line of Main <br />Street; thence south along the west right -of -way line of Main Street <br />to the north right -of -way line of Washington Street; thence west along <br />the north right -of -way line of Washington Street to the west right -of- <br />way line of Lafayette Boulevard; thence south along the west right -of -way <br />line of Lafayette Boulevard to the south right -of -way line of <br />Jefferson Boulevard; thence east along the south right -of -way line <br />of Jefferson Boulevard to the west right -of -way line of Main Street; <br />thence south along the west right -of -way line of Main Street to the <br />south right -of -way line of Nbnroe Street; thence east along the south <br />right -of -way line of Monroe Street to the west right -of -way line of <br />Fellows Street; thence south along the west right -of -way line of Fellows <br />Street to the south right -of -way line of Monroe Street; thence east <br />along the south right -of -way line of Monroe Street and proceeding in a <br />northeasterly direction along said right -of -way to the center of the St. <br />Joseph River; thence proceeding in a northwesterly direction along the <br />center of the St. Joseph River to the north right -of -way line of LaSalle <br />Avenue; thence west along the north right -of -way line of LaSalle Avenue <br />to the west right -of -way line of Main Street which is the point of <br />beginning; <br />is, within the meaning of the Redevelopment of Cities and Town Act of 1953, as <br />amended, a blighted area and constitutes a menace to the social and economic <br />interests of the City of South Bend and its inhabitants and that it will be of <br />public utility and benefit to the health and welfare to continue to acquire and <br />rehabilitate such area and redevelop same under the provisions of said Act, <br />and amending the Declaratory Resolution #215 by designating certain areas to <br />be allocation areas and approving an allocation plan for the financing of the <br />Urban Renewal Plan pursuant to Indiana Code 18 -7 -7 -39.1. <br />Notice is further given that on Friday, July 25, 1980 at 10:00 A.M., <br />Eastern Standard Time, at the offices of the Redevelopment Department located <br />on the 12th floor of the County -City Building at the corner of Jefferson <br />Boulevard and Lafayette Streets in the City of South Bend, Indiana, the <br />Redevelopment Commission, which is the governing body of the City of South Bend, <br />Department of Redevelopment, will conduct a public hearing to receive and <br />hear remonstrances and objections from persons or organizations interested in <br />or affected by these proceedings, to determine the public utility and benefit <br />of the Central Downtown Urban Renewal Project, and to confirm the Declaratory <br />Resolution 615. <br />Maps of the allocation area have been prepared and can be inspected, <br />along with the aforesaid declaratory resolution, in the Office of the Department <br />of Redevelopment located at 227 West Jefferson Boulevard in the City of <br />South Bend, Indiana. <br />4,P, vz�t7� <br />Carl Ellison <br />Executive Director <br />Department of Redevelopment <br />City of South Bend <br />June 23, 1980 <br />F.
