to be made and will assesst the cost thereof against the property abutting upon said

<br />v is ions and requirements of Ordinance No.. 1842 adopted, by the Common Council of the
<br />City,,of.South Bend, on July 24,1916, and of all other ordinances and laws relating
<br />thereto.,
<br />And, be ft further•resolved�and ordered that after the 20 day period
<br />has elapsed for the making of said connections by the prdperty owners, a notice
<br />s`liall be published for two weeks, once each week, in the South Bend Trtbune, a news-
<br />paper of general c-irculation published in said City, requesting; bids from con-
<br />tractors for the making of such connections as have not been made by the property
<br />owners, and such notice shall fix a day not earlier than ten days after the first
<br />of such �publ icat ions, when b ids shall be opened and a contract let for the doing of
<br />said work.
<br />And be it further ordered that the Northern IndIana Gas & Electric
<br />Company, which holds a franchise from, and is empowerwd by said City to furnish
<br />art if ics l gas to the citizens thereof, and is engagecl in said business in said City,
<br />is hereby direct4d to make and install all service connections with its mains in said
<br />street in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1555, adopted June 27,
<br />1910, and :such other ordinances or laws applicable thereto; which connections are
<br />shown upon the report of the City Civil Engineer, and which are hereby declared
<br />tobe necessary in sypplying gas, to the, owners of property abutting upon. said street.

<br />RESOLTION FOR SERVICE CONNECTIONS -WITH MAINS.
<br />No. 627.
<br />WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works onithe 14th., day of January 1919
<br />did adopt a resolution ordering and requiring the permanent improvement of Wenger
<br />Street add Carroll Street from High Street to Paris Street, by paving the roadway
<br />of the same, and °
<br />WHEREAS, the City Engineer has prepared and filed in the office of
<br />this Board a' report showing the number and location of the service pipes, mains,
<br />conduitsm laterals and connections which are, or will be necessary to accommodate
<br />the abutting property and the owners thereof with gas, water, sewer and other
<br />conveniences and necessaries; and also said City Civil Engineer has prepared and
<br />filed in said office, specifications showing the material to be used and the manner
<br />of laying said services pipes, mains, conduits, laterals, and connections from the
<br />m&ins tothe point inside of the curb lines.
<br />-HEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Works of the City of
<br />South Bend, Indiana, that the report of the City Civil Engineer is adopted, and said
<br />report and the specifications prepared and filed by him are made a part of this
<br />resolution as fully and effectually as is copied herein *t full length; and it is
<br />further ordered that all of auch private connections with the sewer, gas and water
<br />mains be made in said street by bring them inside of the curb lines thereo`f.'
<br />And be it further resolved that notice by publication for two sAcces ive
<br />days in the South Bend 4ribune, a newspaper of general circulation printed and
<br />published in the City of South. Bend, Indiana, .be, given to the*owners of theproperty
<br />abutting upon said street to be improved directing them to make such sewer and water
<br />connections on or before the 20th., day of March 1919 and that if said connections are
<br />not made on br before said time and in accordance with the specifications and report
<br />on file in the office of the Board of Public Works, then said Board: will cause th.
<br />same to be made and will assess the cost thereof against.the property abutting upon
<br />:said street, and shall do all_ other things pertaining thereto according to the pro-
