The following communication was ordered sent to F. I. Hardy, Mgr. Chicago,
<br />South Bend & Northern Indiana Ry.-Company.
<br />Referring to your letter of the 9th. inst. just received this morning
<br />regarding the Jefferson Street Bridge we tried to reach you on the Ord. day of
<br />July 1917, ,left word with your office to call and not hearing from you at that
<br />time we wrote you on the '.5th. accepting your propist ion to repair pavement on.
<br />Jefferson Street from the east end of the bridge to the instersection of Lincoln
<br />Way East with Tarvis and to keep same in reapir for a period of one year for the
<br />sum of Two Hundred ($200.00)Dollare and ask -.that you confirm this. Not hearing
<br />from you and after repeated calls at your office xxt we instructed the street
<br />commissioner to repair that part that belongs to the City, and ask that you please
<br />take care of that part affected by your tracks. We would like you to arrange
<br />to have this done at once so that the bridge will be put in goodrepair.
<br />Communication received from the Chief of Police, Millard F. Kerr requesting
<br />typewriter for office of the Detective Department was read and placed on file.
