tested to determine if a confirmed positive test resulted from <br />legally prescribed medication; once the employee has been <br />contacted and the MRO requests a copy of the prescription claimed <br />by the employee for the reason of the positive test. The employee <br />has 72 hours to get the current prescription to the MRO. <br />d. Requiring, if necessary, that the original specimen be reanalyzed to <br />determine the accuracy of the reported test results; and <br />e. Verifying that the laboratory report and assessment are correct. <br />3. Determine whether and when an employee who did not pass a drug test <br />administered under these procedures may be returned to duty. <br />4. Determine a schedule of unannounced follow-up testing, in consultation <br />with the company, for an employee who has returned to duty. <br />5. Ensure that an employee has been drug tested in accordance with the <br />procedures before the employee returns to duty. <br />C. Action on Positive Test Results <br />Prior to making a final decision to verify a positive test result for an individual, <br />the MRO will give the individual an opportunity to discuss the test result. <br />When the MRO has verified a result as positive, adulterated, or substituted, the <br />MRO will notify the employee of their right to have the split specimen tested. The <br />employee must notify the MRO within 72 hours of the result being verified in <br />order to have this testing conducted. If the employee requests that the split <br />specimen be tested within the 72-hour period, the MRO will ensure that the split <br />specimen is tested. Testing of the split specimen is only conducted at the request <br />of the employee, and then only after using the MRO as the requesting agent for <br />the employee. <br />If, after making and documenting all reasonable efforts to contact the individual, <br />the MRO is unable to reach the individual directly, the MRO will contact the <br />Company's DESIGNATED EMPLOYER REPRESENTATIVE, who will direct <br />the individual to contact the MRO as soon as possible. <br />If, after making all reasonable efforts, the Company is unable to contact the <br />employee. The Company will place the employee on temporary unpaid suspension <br />until the investigation is completed.
