REGULAR MEETING November 26, 2018 WORKS O&M RESERVE(#629), $6,600 FROM SEWAGE WORKS OPERATING (#641), AND $55,000 FROM SEWAGE WORKS O&M RESERVE (#643). Councilmember Tim Scott made a motion to send Bill No. 64-18 to the Personnel and Finance Committee for their December 10th, 2018 meeting for Second Reading and Public Hearing. Councilmember Gavin Ferlic seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight(8) ayes. 65-18 FIRST READING ON AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 14 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE BY DELETING SECTIONS 2-169, 2-170.2, 2-170.3, 2-170.4, 2-170.5, AND 2- 170.6, WHICH ESTABLISHED VARIOUS SPECIAL FUNDS ASSOCIATED WITH THE VENUES, PARKS, AND ARTS DEPARTMENT Councilmember Gavin Ferlic made a motion to send Bill No. 65-18 to the Personnel and Finance Committee for their December 10th, 2018 meeting for Second Reading and Public Hearing. Councilmember Karen White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight(8) ayes. 66-18 FIRST READING ON AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 12 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE REGARDING THE ADMINISTRATION AND MAINTENANCE OF PUBLIC CEMETERIES IN THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, AND AMENDING CHAPTER 2, ARTICLE 14 OF THE SOUTH BEND MUNICIPAL CODE TO ESTABLISH SPECIAL FUNDS FOR THE PERMANENT MAINTENANCE OF CITY-OWNED CEMETERIES Councilmember Gavin Ferlic made a motion to send Bill No. 66-18 to the Personnel and Finance Committee for their December 10th, 2018 meeting for Second Reading and Public Hearing. Councilmember Jake Teshka seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight(8) ayes. UNFINISHED BUSINESS Councilmember Oliver Davis stated, We had an update or a situation where we, in terms of Minority Business, were going to have a professional person come in during the month of November to do a follow-up. We went to that and it was held this past summer and I was just wondering, I was gone for a minute,but did that occur? Did it come in and what was the status on that? Council President Tim Scott confirmed there would be an update from Christina Brooks regarding that matter. Councilmember Oliver Davis continued, Then I'm also looking forward to the Weather Amnesty Shelter opening up. I'm hoping that will take place soon. NEW BUSINESS Councilmember Jo M. Broden stated, I would like this passed out and put into the public record (available in the City Clerk's Office). The Poverty Experience Workshop will be held and it is facilitated by the Indiana Youth Institute. It is an interactive simulation to give participants a glimpse of what it is like to be on extremely limited income. Targeted audiences are anyone who 19
