Dr. Fox stated, Yes, we are number eighteen (18) in the Country and our rate has skyrocketed in the last few years. We are evicting way too many people, probably because as a State, we have some of the worst landlord/tenant laws in the Country. Committee Chair Williams-Preston stated, She is working and fighting for us, and working on those issues and that is something that we will address in future meetings as well because we need not just beautiful and safe homes for homeowners, but if we're going to achieve our goal of diversity in our neighborhoods with regards to income and rights, we are going to have to be able to create affordable, beautiful and safe rental opportunities as well. We look forward to working with the Real Estate Investors' Association and any other State agency that is interested in working out those kinds of problems. We'll be moving to the next issue of Police, so look out for those forums coming up.
