REGULAR MEETING MARCH 26, 2012 <br /> <br /> <br /> <br />UNFINISHED BUSINESS <br /> <br />REPORT FROM AREA PLAN COMMISSION <br /> <br />BILL NO. 06-12 AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br />OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, <br />AMENDING CHAPTER 21 OF THE SOUTH <br />BEND MUNICIPAL CODE ARTICLE 6, <br />OVERLAY AND SPECIAL USE DISTRICTS, <br />SECTION 21-05.03 NORTHEAST <br />NEIGHBORHOOD DEVELOPMENT AREA <br />OVERLAY ZONING DISTRICT TO REVISE <br />THE SINGLE AND TWO-FAMILY <br />RESIDENTIAL ROOF EAVES PROVISIONS <br /> <br />Councilmember Oliver Davis made a motion to refer this bill to the Zoning & <br />Annexation Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on April 23, <br />2012. Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine <br />(9) ayes. <br /> <br /> <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />Councilmember Henry Davis, Jr., announced that he will be attending the Young Elected <br />Officials Network Policy Council March 29 – 31, 2012 in Washington, D.C. He stated <br />that the Network will be focusing on five (5) key policy issue areas this year: 1. Building <br />a Healthy Society (Healthcare/Reproductive Rights) 2. Empowering and Educating <br />Communities (K-12 and Higher Education) 3. Defending Workers and Families <br />(Economic Justice/Budget & Tax Reform/Labor Issues) 4. Expanding Democracy (Voter <br />suppression/Corporate Personhood/Equality) 5. Ensuring a Sustainable Future (Energy <br />and the Environment/Green Jobs.) Councilmember Henry Davis, Jr. stated that he would <br />give a report to Council upon his return. <br /> <br />PRIVILEGE OF THE FLOOR <br />There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council at this time. <br /> <br /> <br />ADJOURNMENT <br />There being no further business to come before the Council, President Derek D.
