South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting—April 10, 2012
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
D. West Washington-Chapin Development Area
(1) continued...
Washington TIF is broke. Mr. Inks said that
the area generates about $400,000 in TIF
each year. The TIF designation does not
have an expiration date. The next priority
will be the Rushton Apartments.
Mr. Downes made a motion to approve No ACTION TAKEN
Resolution No. 3016. Mr. Varner seconded
the motion. The vote was two in favor, one
against.
Mr. Metiever noted that the item will be
brought back to the Commission at its next
meeting. No action was taken today because
the concurrence of three members is
necessary to approve or disapprove of action.
E. South Side Development Area
(1) Relocation Agreement with American
Electric Power for the Main-Lafayette
Connector Project.
Mr. Schalliol noted that the Relocation
Agreement is for the relocation of facilities in
and adjacent to the Main-Lafayette
Connector project. While the roadway was
designed to minimize impacts to AEP and
other utilities, there still remained several
points of intersect with both the transmission
and the distribution network. For those
service points in easements, the party causing
the conflict is required to pay relocation and
where no easement exists, AEP covers the
expense.
32
