The existing
sidewalks and curb ramps were deteriorated and not in compliance
with ADA standards. Design services included topographic survey,
environmental document, and the design of sidewalk and 123 curb
ramps for Lincoln Primary and 98 curb ramps for Perley Fine Arts
Academy.
Many of the sidewalk and curb ramp design locations required
unique design solutions to allow the ramp to be designed within the
ADA guidelines, while negating the need for additional right-of-way
or any utility relocations. Both locations were ultimately constructed
under budget.
07 Y °`;F- St III V%C)O Ul , &
UI )„A S I U UI°", UI UI'4 S U U Cl U 0 U'°Jl
III III PIi ° III a UI III r Pd „ 14,00580) II Uf III
1,400934)
For Phase II, VS provided construction inspection services for the
installation of 240 School Zone 25 MPH Flashers installed at various
locations throughout the City of Indianapolis.
For Phase III, VS is provided construction inspection services for the
installation of approximately 112 School Zone 25 MPH Flashers installed
and 518 modem retrofits, including Phase I, at various locations.
Key components of the installations included field adjustments as
necessary to avoid utilities, existing driveways and line of sight issues, all
while ensuring the flashers were placed in accordance with City standards.
Additionally, impacts to adjacent properties and/or concerns of residents
nearby were coordinated with the Contractor and Indianapolis DPW staff
to make certain the final location of each flasher was satisfactory to all
stakeholders.
