South Bend Central Development Area <br /> (3) Proposal for Asbestos and Lead Based <br /> Paint Survey at 420 S. William St. (former <br /> Sons of Israel Synagogue). <br /> Mr. Schalliol noted the Sons of Israel <br /> Synagogue is being renovated as part of the <br /> Coveleski Park improvements and this study <br /> is needed to complete interior and exterior <br /> work. The total cost of the proposal is <br /> $1,800. <br /> Staff requested Commission approval for <br /> these proposals. <br /> Upon a motion by Mr. Downes, seconded by COMMISSION APPROVED PROPOSAL FOR <br /> Mr. Varner and unanimously carried, the ASBESTOS AND LEAD BASED PAINT SURVEY AT <br /> Commission approved Proposal for Asbestos 420 S.WILLIAM ST.(FORMER SONS OF ISRAEL <br /> and Lead Based Paint Survey at 420 S. SYNAGOGUE). <br /> William St. (former Sons of Israel <br /> Synagogue). <br /> (4) Proposal for environmental remediation of <br /> Asbestos and Lead Based Paint at 420 S. <br /> William St. (former Sons of Israel <br /> Synagogue). <br /> Mr. Schalliol noted that Diamond <br /> Environmental Services, Inc. submitted a <br /> proposal in the amount of$5,645 to perform <br /> environmental remediation of Asbestos and <br /> Lead Based Paint from the synagogue <br /> facility. The scope of work included in the <br /> document details many asbestos and paint <br /> locations within the building and these hot <br /> spots must all be remediated before <br /> restoration can continue on the site. <br /> Wightman Petrie would provide oversight of <br /> the work. <br /> 10 <br />
