SUBSTITUTE <br /> BILL NO, 01-12 <br /> ORDINANCE NO. <br /> AN ORDINANCE OF THE COMMON COUNCIL. OF THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA AMENDING <br /> ORDINANCE NO. 10119-11 FIXING MAXIMUM <br /> SALARIES AND WAGES OF APPOINTED OFFICERS AND <br /> NON-BARGAINING EMPLOYEES OF THE CITY OF <br /> SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR <br /> 2012 AND TRANSFERRING FUNDS FROM CERTAIN <br /> ACCOUNTS TO OTHER ACCOUNTS WITHIN <br /> DEPARTMENTS OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, <br /> INDIANA FOR THE CALENDAR YEAR 2012 <br /> STATEMENT OF PURPOSE AND INTENT <br /> On September 27, 2011 this Council adopted Ordinance No. 10119-11 which set forth the <br /> maximum salaries and wages of appointed officers and non-bargaining employees of the City of <br /> South Bend for the calendar year 2012 (the "2012 Salary Ordinance"). This Ordinance amends <br /> the maximum salaries for certain designated appointed officers and managerial level employees <br /> of the City, and it also changes the job titles and creates one new position for certain managerial <br /> level employees including certain executive staff positions as originally described in the 2012 <br /> Salary Ordinance. <br /> Salaries will be paid pursuant to the budget approved by the Common Council, and the <br /> budgeted amount to be paid may be less than the maximum amounts set forth in this Ordinance. <br /> The changes in compensation shall be made by transfer of funds from certain accounts to other <br /> accounts within Departments of the City of South Bend. <br /> This Ordinance is in the best interest of the City and the affected non-bargaining <br /> employees. <br /> NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED BY THE COMMON COUNCIL OF <br /> THE CITY OF SOU"T"H BEND, INDIANA, AS FOLLOWS: <br /> Section L Amendment to Ordinance 10119-11 <br /> The 2012 Salary Ordinance is hereby amended to change the maximum compensation amounts <br /> for certain positions, rename certain positions, and create a new position with corresponding <br /> maximum compensation, as set forth in Exhibit A. <br /> 1 <br />
