<br /> TANGIBLE PERSONAL PROPERTY TAX ABATEMENT CONSIDERATION
<br /> The undersigned owner(s) of new manufacturing equipment, personal property, located within the City
<br /> of South Bend, hereby petitions the Common Council of the City of South Bend for personal property
<br /> (new manufacturing equipment) tax abatement consideration and pursuant to I.C., 6-1.1-12.1, et
<br /> and South Bend Municipal Code Section 2.84-2, et seg., for this position states the following:
<br /> 1. Describe the proposed project, including information about the new manufacturing equipment
<br /> personal property ("Equipment") to be installed, the amount of land to be used, if any, the
<br /> proposed use of the equipment, and a general statement as to the value of the project to your
<br /> business. The project involves acquisition of manufacturing and material handling equipment
<br /> and construction of an addition to on existing facility of approximately 20,000 square feet of
<br /> space to house the equipment. The total cost of the project, including the cost of updating the
<br /> main electrical power distribution switch gear, including primary and secondary feed runs, as
<br /> well as installation of the new dock leveler, is expected to cost from $2,650,000 to$4,150,000.
<br /> The project will enable Petitioner to expand its manufacturing base, improve the efficiency of its
<br /> material handling systems, and increase overall efficiency and productivity of its operations.
<br /> 2. The project will: (a) create 10 permanent, full-time and permanent, part-time jobs within
<br /> the first year, representing a new annual payroll of$314,000, and (b) maintain 20 existing,
<br /> permanent, full-time and existing, permanent, part-time jobs representing an annual
<br /> payroll of$653,793 for existing employees.
<br /> 3. Provide current wage information for existing employees including: base rate, cost-of-living
<br /> allowances, hazardous-duty pay, incentive pay including commissions and production bonuses,
<br /> on-call pay and tips (please show average hourly rate or range). Do Not Include: back pay,jury
<br /> duty pay, overtime pay, severance pay, shift differentials, non-production bonuses, and tuition
<br /> reimbursements.
