South Bend Central Development Area <br /> (1) continued... <br /> Upon a motion by Mr. Varner, seconded by COMMISSION ACCEPTED THE PROPOSAL FOR <br /> Ms. King and unanimously carried, the PROFESSIONAL SERVICES BY WIGHTMAN PETRIE <br /> Commission accepted the proposal for RELATED TO UNION STATION(MASTER <br /> PLANNING AND STREET VACATION <br /> professional services by Wightman Petrie <br /> related to Union Station (Master planning <br /> and street vacation) <br /> B. Airport Economic Development Area <br /> (1) Staff report on disposition of property in <br /> the Airport Economic Development Area <br /> (604 S. Scott Street, Millennium <br /> Environmental). <br /> Mr. Schalliol noted that Union Station <br /> Properties is interested in purchasing the <br /> former Millennium Environmental site on the <br /> southeast corner of South and Scott Streets. <br /> Millennium Environmental is a 2.6 acre site <br /> that has environmental issues, back tax <br /> issues, lean issues and is a property that the <br /> city has been working with the state to get <br /> cleaned up to the point where it can have <br /> some economic value for the community. As <br /> part of this project being proposed today, one <br /> of the first phase elements is to incorporate <br /> that parcel into a larger development area <br /> along with the vacation of United Drive. The <br /> Millennium Environmental site would likely <br /> be used as a location for the electrical <br /> express feeder system and other uses related <br /> to the larger development. <br /> Mr. Schalliol noted that one of the challenges <br /> with the site is that half has been cleaned up <br /> by IDEM and has a Comfort Letter from the <br /> 8 <br />
