South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting -February 3, 2006
5. OLD BUSINESS
There was no Old Business.
6. NEW BUSINESS
A. Tax Abatements
(1} Commission approval requested for
Resolution No. 2227 approving an
application for residential tax deduction
for property located at 917 North St.
Peter Street in the Northeast
Neighborhood Development Area.
(Barbara Virginia Sniegowski Revocable
Trust)
Mr. Mathia noted that at the time the
application for tax abatement was filed, the
Sniegowskis were in the process of
purchasing 917 N. St. Peter St. from the
Northeast Neighborhood Revitalization
Organization. They have since completed
the purchase and added it to the trust.
Mr. Mathia gave the staff report on the
project. The Sniegowskis will construct a
new 2000 sft, single story home with seven
rooms, two bathrooms and a full basement
on the property. The cost of the home will
be approximately $250,000.
The Northeast Neighborhood
Revitalization Organization (the petitioner)
has not been associated with any previous
tax abatements. The property is properly
zoned for the proposed use. The property
is located in the Northeast Neighborhood
Development Area, which is a tax
increment allocation area; therefore, the
petition for real property tax abatement
must first be approved by the South Bend
THERE WAS NO OLD BUSINESS
20
