South Bend Central Development Area <br /> (2) continued... <br /> Mavcon to respond. <br /> Mr. Dally said they've not put out a lot of <br /> proposals, hoping they'll get one or two <br /> accepted. They've already spent countless <br /> hours analyzing whether they want to <br /> participate in redeveloping this project in <br /> South Bend. The more time they've spent, <br /> the more excited they become. They like <br /> South Bend as a city and believe it's a place <br /> they'd like to invest their money. As a <br /> company, you wouldn't have lots of this type <br /> of project going on at one time. You have <br /> one or two, and you give them your full <br /> concentration. Mavcon intends to make <br /> monthly reports to staff on the progress of its <br /> analysis. The city will know if, and as soon <br /> as, Mavcon begins to have any doubt about <br /> its interest in the project. By the time we <br /> close on the property, we'll know we can and <br /> will complete it. <br /> Mr. Dally showed some slides of other <br /> projects Mavcon has done. Metropolitan <br /> Center has had a lot of different challenges. <br /> They put in a lot of unique features on that <br /> property, ones that most developers would <br /> see as roadblocks. Mavcon believes there's <br /> always a solution, if you've got a team that <br /> works with you. Many of the things needed <br /> in renovation are not available to buy. <br /> Mavcon manufactures those things itself. It <br /> is a problem solving company. <br /> Mr. Dally also said that all of their projects <br /> have a lot of pride; Mavcon intends to own <br /> them for 20 years. They intend to make the <br /> 30 <br />
