South Bend Redevelopment Commission
Regular Meeting—June 14, 2011
6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.)
A. Public Hearings
(3) continued...
looking for people like Kizer and Wolverton
and others today. I ask you to support this
but also to challenge Redevelopment to
rehabilitate this property. In the short run it
will benefit me. I mentioned to Mr. Inks. I
said that there are two kinds of folks that get
up here (meaning the podium), people who
want something and people who are against
something. In the short run, it will benefit
me. In the long run, I believe it will benefit
this community. I hope that you will pass it,
but more importantly, I hope that you will
pay attention to how Community &
Economic Development works with it. I
think it's a wonderful way to start a lot of
positives that everybody's here for, for other
things for our community. I wanted to
mention a few things about this great man
and the building that I've been privileged to
be next to for a long time. Does anybody
have any questions? Thank you for
everything. I appreciate it very much.
Mr. Leone noted that he checked the Notice
of Hearing that was published and the notice
gave the correct resolution number. So there
is no problem with the public hearing.
Ms. Jones asked if there was anyone else
who wished to speak regarding Resolution
No. 2876. There was no one who wished to
speak. Ms. Jones closed the public hearing
for whatever action the Commission wished
to take.
19
