South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting — December 17, 2004 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />I. South Side Development Area <br />(2) continued... <br />Phase II plan will also study and create a <br />proposed land use plan in the impact zone of <br />the proposed U.S. 31 alignment route as well <br />as coordinate open space development <br />projects proposed for the Phase 2 area. <br />The proposal is a stepped contract, meaning <br />that once milestones have been achieved, the <br />next component of the planning process will <br />begin. The total not -to- exceed amount of <br />this contract is $98,000. Funding for the <br />contract will be through the City's 2005 CIP <br />budget which has not yet been finalized. <br />Staff requests the Commission to approve the <br />proposal subject to funding approval. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Faccenda, seconded <br />by Mr. Hunt and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request for <br />proposal for Phase II Master Planning in the <br />South Side Development Area and accepted <br />the proposal from Lehman & Lehman, Inc. <br />for the scope of services and fee proposed <br />subject to CIP funding approval. <br />J. Northeast Neighborhood Development Area <br />7. PROGRESS REPORTS <br />Mr. Inks noted that Bendix Drive will be opened up <br />today. Realignment of Bendix was part of the Bosch <br />project. The construction crew has put down some base <br />coat material. It will be serviceable during the winter <br />and they will finish the top coat next spring.
