South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting — October 7, 2005 <br />6. NEW BUSINESS (CONT.) <br />E. Airport Economic Development Area <br />(1) continued... <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, seconded COMMISSION APPROVED THE PROPOSAL OF <br />by Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the KENNY OUTDOOR SOLUTIONS FOR <br />Commission approved the proposal of Kenny REPLACEMENT IRRIGATION PARTS FOR <br />Outdoor Solutions for Replacement Irrigation BLACKTHORN GOLF COURSE. <br />Parts for Blackthorn Golf Course. <br />(2) Commission approval requested for <br />proposal for Lot Cleanup in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. (East of <br />Bosch, west of Bendix Rd.) <br />Mr. Witwer noted that the Commission <br />owned properties west of Bendix and east of <br />IL Bosch were purchased for the expansion of <br />the Bosch campus. The properties are in <br />deteriorating condition and several structures <br />have been broken into numerous times, even <br />after the structures were secured. Grass and <br />other vegetation have grown out of control <br />and trash and debris are rapidly piling up at <br />several locations. <br />r� <br />Center for the Homeless Landscaping has <br />given a quote of $5,514 to undertake removal <br />of trash and debris, boarding and securing of <br />structures, and mowing all grass and <br />overgrown brush on the project site. Staff <br />recommends accepting the proposal. <br />Ms. Greene noted that she has observed the <br />site and agrees that it is an eyesore and <br />recommends that the Commission proceed in <br />order to avoid potential liability issues <br />20 <br />
