The building will be used for storage <br />and distribution of toys from December 2 <br />until January 14. Corporal Stanley is aware <br />of the parking constraints on Michigan Street <br />and intends to be considerate of the parking <br />needs of surrounding retailers. The Toys for <br />Tots event will complement the overall <br />downtown holiday experience that the City <br />and Downtown South Bend, Inc. are trying to <br />create. The Marine Corps will supply an <br />indemnification agreement and liability <br />insurance certificate. Staff recommends <br />approval of the request. <br />Upon a motion by Mr. Hojnacki, seconded <br />by Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved the request of the U.S. <br />Marine Corps to use the former Oscos <br />building for its Toys for Tots program from <br />December 2, 2005 until January 14, 2006, <br />subject to providing proof of insurance and <br />indemnification of the Commission and City <br />of South Bend. <br />(5) Commission approval requested for <br />Resolution No. 2200 approving a form of <br />maintenance service agreement for the <br />elevators in the Wayne Street Parking <br />Garage and other related matters. <br />Mr. Williams noted that Resolution No. 2200 <br />approves a six -month maintenance <br />agreement with Kone Elevators for service in <br />the Wayne Street garage. The fee is $868 per <br />month.
