South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —June 28, 2011 <br />(5) Resolution No. 2912 approving and <br />authorizing the execution of an Addendum <br />to the Master Agency Agreement (LaSalle <br />Square). <br />Mr. Sikora noted that Resolution No. 2912 <br />adds the LaSalle Square, Phase One — <br />Roadway and Utility Design Project to the <br />Master Agency Agreement. <br />The proposed project consists of the design <br />and development of bid documents for the <br />construction of Bonds Avenue ( ±470 feet) <br />and a new city street ( ±340 feet) adjacent to <br />the St. Joseph County Public Library, as part <br />of site improvements for the proposed senior <br />housing development (Heritage Place at <br />LaSalle Square). <br />The scope of services includes a field survey <br />of existing conditions and utilities, a phase <br />one environmental assessment on property to <br />be acquired for the housing development <br />(former Fernando's Restaurant), asbestos <br />investigation on the restaurant, demolition <br />bid documents for the restaurant, engineering <br />design for sanitary sewer & water main <br />relocation and roadway & drainage design, <br />soil erosion and sedimentation control <br />permit, construction bid documents and <br />construction administration. Total cost of <br />these services is $62,400. <br />Staff is currently in negotiations for the <br />properties affected by the proposal. Work <br />would not go forward until those properties <br />are acquired, but in the interest of getting the <br />proposed development completed in a timely <br />manner and to best coordinate site <br />improvements with construction of the <br />housing development, staff has asked for <br />28 <br />
