South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Regular Meeting —June 14, 2011 <br />who wished to speak regarding Resolution <br />No. 2876. There was no one who wished to <br />speak. Ms. Jones closed the public hearing <br />for whatever action the Commission wished <br />to take. <br />(4) Consideration of Resolution No. 2876 <br />Mr. Varner asked what the plans were for the <br />property. Mr. Gibney answered that staff is <br />having active conversation with The Center <br />For History which is located across the street. <br />One of the uses being considered is for <br />additional archive storage. Secondly the very <br />top floor contains small apartments. Mr. <br />Gibney's suggestion was to leave them as <br />apartments and as the opportunity rolls <br />around for internships at all of the museums <br />in that neighborhood, they could be used as <br />affordable housing for college student interns <br />working at the various museums. He noted <br />that we are still in the planning stage. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. King, seconded by <br />Mr. Varner and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 2876 <br />confirming a resolution amending the <br />Development Plan of the West Washington - <br />Chapin Development Area and adding one or <br />more parcels to the List of Parcels to be <br />Acquired (803 W. Washington) <br />B. Housing <br />(1) Loan and Grant in connection with the <br />South Bend Home Improvement Program <br />for property located at 425 LaMonte <br />Terrace (Mark & Katherine Garwood). <br />Mr. Inks noted that the loan is $6,350.
