PERSONNEL AND FINANCE COMMITTEE <br />2006 Common Council <br />The May 22, 2006 meeting of the Personnel and Finance Committee was called or order <br />by its Chairperson, Council Member Charlotte D. Pfeifer at 5:00 p.m. in the Council <br />Informal Meeting Room. <br />Persons in attendance included Councilmember's Pfeifer, White, Varner Puzzello, Kelly <br />Rouse and Dieter. Citizen Member Nikki Hutchinson and Chief Assistant City Attorney <br />Aladean DeRose. <br />Absent: Councilmember Erv Kuspa <br />Bill No. 28-06 -Amend Code Chapter 2 Article 18, Set and Ad_just_Fees for <br />Documents and Services: <br />(Substitute) Presenter Tom Bodnar explained the four changes, all monetary charges, in <br />substitute bill. Councilmember Dieter suggested the city look into towing and charging <br />with its own trucks. Brief comments followed. Councilmember Varner made a motion, <br />seconded by Councilmember White that Bi1128-06 be recommended favorably to <br />Council. The motion passed. <br />Bill 29-06 -Amend Code Chapter 2_A_rticle 9, Human Rights Ordinance by the <br />Inclusions of New Provisions Addressing__Gender Identity and Sexual Orientation. <br />A date for the public hearing and third reading on this bill will be set at the June 12, 2006 <br />Meeting of the Council. <br />Bill 31-06 - 206 Tax Anticinatiun Time Warrants <br />City Controller Catherine Fanello explained the need to authorize and sell tax anticipation <br />warrants to cover a delay in property tax distributions. Councilmember White made a <br />motion, seconded by Councilmember Varner that Bi1131-06 be recommended favorably <br />to Council. The motion passed. <br />Bill No. 06-45 - Appointing a Negotiator for the 2006 Teamster Nei©tiations <br />Jeff Jankowski, Deputy City Attorney, explained the need to authorize the appointment of <br />a committee to negotiate a contract agreement with City workers covered under the <br />Teamsters Union. Councilmember White made a motion, seconded by Councilmember <br />Varner that Bi1106-48 be recommended favorable to the Council. The motion passed. <br />
