REGULAR MEETING APRIL 25,2005 intrusive addition because of the careful planning by St. Joe for minimal effect on the neighborhood and the knowledge of need for the heliport. Madison Center is in the process of building a clubhouse on Niles and Cresent Streets. It is being built into the hill there and the Sunshine Club members will use and enjoy it. There has been a lot of demolition of old buildings along Hill Street between Madison and South Bend, Avenue to make way for new business. The Robinson Learning Center passed their 3 year anniversary in the Northeast Neighborhood this past year. When it was built by Notre Dame, they only promised a 3 year funding. The continued funding and neighborhood help interest by Notre Dame is greatly appreciated by the neighborhood. My district remains the lovely, mostly residential area on the Northeast Side of South Bend. The citizens are well informed and quick to expect information on purposed changes. It’s a great place to live and I love being part of it. RESOLVE INTO THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE At 7:41 p.m., Councilmember Dieter made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the Whole. Councilmember Kuspa seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. Councilmember Varner, Chairperson, Committee of the Whole, presiding. Councilmember Kelly explained the procedures to be followed for tonight’s meeting in accordance with Article 1, Section 2-11 of the South Bend Municipal Code and that pamphlets were available to the pubic, which outline the Council rules and procedures, and are located on the railing in the Council Chambers.
