REGULAR MEETINGNOVEMBER 27, 2006 <br /> DELIVERY OF, THE TRUST INDENTURE, <br /> LOAN AGREEMENT AND OTHER <br /> DOCUMENTS RELATED TO THE ISSUANCE <br /> AND SALE OF THE BONDS; AND <br /> AUTHORIZING PROPER OFFICERS TO DO <br /> ALL OTHER THINGS DEEMED NECESSARY <br /> OR ADVISABLE IN CONNECTION <br /> THEREWITH AND APPROVING AND <br /> AUTHORIZING OTHER ACTIONS IN RESPECT <br /> THERETO <br />Councilmember Kelly, Chairperson, Community and Economic Development <br />Committee, reported that this committee held a meeting this afternoon and it was the <br />consensus of the committee to send this bill to the full council with a favorable <br />recommendation. <br />Mr. Alan Feldbaum, Attorney at Law, Barnes & Thornburg LLP, 100 North Michigan <br />st <br />Street, 600 1 Source Bank Center, South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this <br />bill. <br />Mr. Feldbaum advised that Barnes & Thornburg LLP serves as bond counsel with respect <br />to the issuance of the City of South Bend, Indiana Variable Rate Demand Economic <br />Development Revenue Bonds, Series 2007 (PEI/Genesis Project). <br />Mayor Stephen Luecke stated that he is pleased with the growth of PEI Genesis and <br />welcomes their commitment to the City. He urged the Council’s favorable <br />recommendation. <br />These being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bills, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill, Councilmember Dieter made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Councilmember Kelly seconded the <br />motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes. <br />RISE AND REPORT <br />Councilmember Pfeifer made a motion to rise and report to the full Council. <br />Councilmember Dieter seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) <br />ayes. <br />ATTEST: ATTEST: <br />__________________________ ________________________ <br />John Voorde, City Clerk Karen L.
