REGULAR MEETING OCTOBER 23, 2006 originally under contract to the Corporation for Entrepreneurial Development. It was determined that the CED no longer had staffing sufficient to administer the program, so the funds have been returned to the City. The City wishes to continue this program through the Board of Public Works. This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this bill, Councilmember Kelly made a motion for favorable recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. BILL NO. 71-06 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $86,975 FROM THE COUNTY OPTION INCOME TAX FUND (FUND 404) FOR THE PURPOSE OF CONTINUING THE COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR FACADE MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM Councilmember Varner, Chairperson, Public Works and Property Vacation Committee reported that this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and sends it to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. th Ms. Pam Meyer, Director, Community and Economic Development, 12 Floor County- City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for this bill. Ms. Meyer advised that this bill would appropriate $86,975.00 from the County Option Income Tax fund to continue the Commercial Corridor facade matching grant program.
