The City wishes to continue this program <br />through the Board of Public Works. <br />This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents <br />and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this bill, Councilmember Kelly made a motion for favorable <br />recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Councilmember Varner seconded <br />the motion which carried by a voice vote of eight (8) ayes. <br />BILL NO. 71-06 PUBLIC HEARING ON A BILL OF THE <br /> COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH <br /> BEND, INDIANA, APPROPRIATING $86,975 <br /> FROM THE COUNTY OPTION INCOME TAX <br /> FUND (FUND 404) FOR THE PURPOSE OF <br /> CONTINUING THE COMMERCIAL CORRIDOR <br /> FACADE MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM <br />Councilmember Varner, Chairperson, Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br />reported that this committee held a Public Hearing on this bill this afternoon and sends it <br />to the full Council with a favorable recommendation. <br />th <br />Ms. Pam Meyer, Director, Community and Economic Development, 12 Floor County- <br />City Building, 227 W. Jefferson Blvd., South Bend, Indiana, made the presentation for <br />this bill. <br />Ms. Meyer advised that this bill would appropriate $86,975.00 from the County Option <br />Income Tax fund to continue the Commercial Corridor facade matching grant program. <br />These funds were originally under contract to the Corporation for Entrepreneurial <br />Development.
