REGULAR MEETING SEPTEMBER 25, 2006 <br />BILL NO. 50-06 AN ORDINANCE AMENDING THE ZONING <br /> ORDINANCE FOR PROPERTY LOCATED AT <br /> 5117 SOUTH IRONWOOD DRIVE, <br /> COUNCILMANIC DISTRICT NO. 5, IN THE <br /> CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br />Councilmember Pfeifer made a motion to refer this bill to the Zoning and Annexation <br />Committee and set it for Public Hearing and Third Reading on October 9, 2006. <br />Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) <br />ayes. <br />UPDATE FROM THE AREA PLAN COMMISSION: <br />CITY PLAN – COMPREHENSIVE PLAN FOR THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND <br />Councilmember Dieter made a motion to refer this bill to the Zoning and Annexation <br />Committee. Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote <br />of nine (9) ayes. <br />REQUEST TO WITHDRAW <br />BILL NO. 04-102 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL <br /> OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA <br /> FORMALLY ACKNOWLEDGING THE <br /> ADOPTION OF THE NATIONAL INCIDENT <br /> MANAGEMENT SYSTEM (NIMS) AS THE <br /> BASIC FRAMEWORK FOR ALL EMERGENCY <br /> RESPONSE PROVIDERS <br />Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to strike Bill No. 04-102 at the request of the <br />petitioner. Councilmember White seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of <br />nine (9) ayes. <br />NEW BUSINESS <br />There was no new business to come before the Council at this time. <br />UPDATES FROM COUNCILMEMBER’S SERVING AS REPRESENTATIVES ON <br />OTHER COMMITTEES WHO HAVE MET WITHIN THE LAST TWO WEEKS <br />Councilmember Kelly stated that he attended the Area Plan Commission and the results <br />of that meeting are on file in the Office of the City Clerk and copies have been distributed <br />to all Councilmember’s. <br />Councilmember Varner stated that he is the Council’s representative on the Michiana <br />Area Council of Governments (MACOG) and on October 11, 2006, the U.S. 31 <br />Committee will hold a hearing to discuss plans for the next phase of the U.S. expansion. <br />Councilmember White stated that the Health and Public Safety Committee will hold a <br />meeting at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday, September 27, 2006 to continue discussion on the <br />Disorderly House Ordinance with representative from the University of Notre Dame <br />Student Body. <br />Councilmember Pfeifer stated that the Personnel & Finance Committee will hold a <br />meeting from 8:00 – 10:00 a.m., on October 14, 2006 to discuss Budget Issues. <br />Councilmember Pfeifer advised that Art Beat was wonderful. It was so nice to local <br />artists and their talents displayed downtown. <br />26 <br /> <br />
