REGULAR MEETING MARCH 13, 2006 family and friends, Washington High School, the South Bend Community School Corporation and all of the residents of the City of South Bend, Indiana. Section III . White, At Large th s/Dr. David Varner, 5 District s/Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand,Council Attorney Attest: s/John Voorde, City Clerk s/Stephen J. Luecke, Mayor of South Bend Councilmembers Dieter, Pfeifer and White made the presentation for this Resolution by first offering their comments and then reading the Resolution in its entirety and presenting it to Coach Marilyn Coddens and the Lady Panthers. A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in opposition to this Resolution. Coach Marilyn Coddens, Lady Panthers Cheneka Anderson and Skylar Diggins thanked the Council for this honor. Councilmember Kelly made a motion to adopt this Resolution by acclamation. Councilmember Kirsits seconded the motion which carried. RESOLUTION NO. 3568-06 A RESOLUTION OF THE COMMON COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SOUTH BEND, INDIANA, PUBLICLY COMMENDING THE STAFF OF THE MORRIS PERFORMING ARTS CENTER FOR ITS MANY EFFORTS WHICH HAVE RESULTED IN THE MORRIS BEING LISTED IN THE 2005 POLLSTAR RANKINGS OF THE WORLD’S TOP 100 THEATERS Whereas, the Common Council of the City of South Bend, Indiana, notes with pride that the Morris Performing Arts Center is located in the heart of downtown South Bend and is the home of the Broadway Theatre League, the South Bend Symphony Orchestra and the Southhold Dance Theater; and Whereas, the Common Council further notes that in May of 1998 a complete restoration and renovation process began with the new Morris Performing Arts Center re- opening in 2000 with brand-new, state-of-the-art stage house and interiors which were “The Hottest restored to their 1922 splendor, and today is proudly known as having Ticket in Town!”; and Whereas, the Common Council is especially proud to recognize that the concert Pollstar industry magazine has listed the world’s top 100 theaters, ranked by the number of tickets sold for traveling shows and lists the Morris Performing Arts Center as # 46 in 3
