REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 27, 2006 <br />There was no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this Resolution. <br />Councilmember Pfeifer thanked the Council for this honor. She stated that it has been a <br />pleasure to serve as President. She stated that the Council had some very tough issues <br />they faced last year and she was grateful that they were able to be respectful to each other <br />during the process. <br />Councilmember Kelly made a motion to adopt this Resolution by acclamation. <br />Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried. <br />REPORTS OF CITY OFFICES <br />DIRECTOR OF SOUTH BEND HUMAN RIGHTS COMMISSION – LONNIE <br />DOUGLAS <br />Mr. Lonnie Douglas, Director, South Bend Human Rights Commission gave a power <br />point presentation updating the Council on the Human Rights Commission’s activities. A <br />copy of that power point is on file with the Office of the City Clerk. <br />RESOLVE INTO THE COMMITTEE OF THE WHOLE <br />At 8:00 p.m., Councilmember Varner made a motion to resolve into the Committee of the <br />Whole. Councilmember Dieter seconded the motion which carried by a voice vote of <br />nine (9) ayes.
