REGULAR MEETING FEBRUARY 27, 2006
approval of the Indiana Utility Regulatory Commission (IURC). On February 8, 2006,
the IURC issued its Order which effectively approved the rates as requested by the City
with some modification and reservation. For the Council’s information, the most recent
rate approval process was highly contested, and also protracted, by an intervention from
rate payers located outside City limits. As to those rates, the IURC approved them
subject to a future cost of service study. The rates and charges are slightly different and
lower than those set forth in previous Ordinance No. 9561-05 and because of this slight
rate differential, previous Ordinance No. 9561-05 must be amended.
This being the time heretofore set for the Public Hearing on the above bill, proponents
and opponents were given an opportunity to be heard.
There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in
opposition to this bill, Councilmember Kuspa made a motion for favorable
recommendation to full Council concerning this bill. Council member Dieter seconded
the motion which carried by a voice vote of nine (9) ayes.
RISE AND REPORT
Councilmember Puzzello made a motion to rise and report to the full Council.
Councilmember Varner seconded the motion which carried by voice vote of nine (9)
ayes.
ATTEST: ATTEST:
_________________________ _________________________
John Voorde, City Clerk Karen L.
