The change came at the request of neighbors and local businesses.
• Lafayette Boulevard will become two-way from South Street northward to Western
Avenue. (Lafayette remains a one-way northbound street north of Western.) In
addition, traffic headed westbound on Western Avenue will be able to turn
southbound onto Lafayette with a newly activated, phased, left-turn traffic signal.
Lafayette is immediately east of Coveleski Stadium.
• South Street will become two-way from Lafayette westward to Taylor Street as it
runs between Union Station and Coveleski Stadium.
City street crews have begun to make changes to traffic signs, signals and markings.
Motorists should continue to observe current signage until changes go into effect March
30. Please drive safely where street crews are present and give them adequate space to
perform their work.
- 30 -
