Id
AWSYN
REALTY GROUP
30 South Meridian Street, Suite 1100
Indianapolis, IN 46204
317 577 5600
June 11, 2018
TO: City of South Bend Board of Public Works
FROM: Lance Angle, Director of Asset Management
RE: N Eddy Street — request for approval to close street
Dear Board,
We respectfully request approval to limit vehicular traffic on N Eddy Street on Saturday's and
Sunday's from 12:30AM-4AM on an as needed basis determined by the South Bend Police Department
Special Duty Officer's (SDO's).
Over the past several months there Ihas been an increasing presence of vehicles on IN Eddy
Street during the early morning hours on Saturday and Sunday's. The volume of traffic on N Eddy Street
during these hours has caused concern for the safety of pedestrians due to excessive "cruising"' traffic
and comfort for the residents in the Foundry apartments due to noise. The South Bend Police
Department recommends the ability to block off the ingress to both north and south bound lanes to IN
Eddy Street between Angela Blvd and Napoleon Street at their discretion during these peak times. Kite
Realty Group fully supports this recommendation.
The safety and well being of our guests and residents is a critical component to the success of
the Eddy Street Commons development. Providing the SDO's with discretion to initiate the closures will
help them protect the pedestrians and decrease the noise volume from heavy traffic.
I've attached a site map indicating IN Eddy Street and the ingress lanes. Thank you! for your
consideration and please let me know if there are any questions.
Sincerely, Docu&Nined by:
Lance Ang e, t§*TYVWtor of Asset Management
LAngle KiteRealty.com
317 577 5618 [dWect]
317 5775605 [fax]
