Task 1.3 — Project Management and Administration
Provide project supervision, direction, and coordination with the Owner's management and staff.
Project administration and management also includes budget and schedule control, client
management support, document control, coordination of activities, monthly invoicing and project
close-out. Engineer will maintain a change register of any scope changes affecting the project
budget or schedule and review it with the Owner on a monthly basis. Engineer shall discuss and
receive written approval for any scope changes from the Owner prior to proceeding.
Task 2 — Olive WTP Improvements Preliminary Engineering
The Owner has identified several improvements that are needed at the Olive Water Treatment
Plant. A prioritization of the needed improvements in these areas will be completed and a
Preliminary Engineering Technical Memorandum will be developed that meet's the Owner's
budget requirements.
Task 2.1— Meetings and Workshops
Engineer will conduct up to two meetings/workshops, and up to one teleconference with the
Owner to kickoff the project, update the Owner on project progress and obtain feedback on
deliverables. The project meeting and workshop will be held with the Owner at the Olive WTP
site in South Bend, Indiana. The kickoff meeting will be held with the Owner to discuss the goals
and objectives of the project, to establish the lines of communication, as well as gather data
necessary to prepare the Draft Preliminary Engineering Technical Memorandum. Engineer will
conduct a Prioritization Workshop with the Owner and will present description and cost
information for each of the recommended improvements for the Owner to narrow the list of
improvements to those that can be accomplished with available funding. A teleconference will be
held with the Owner to review the Draft Preliminary Engineering Technical Memorandum. The
project manager, engineering manager, and lead chemical feed engineer will attend the kickoff
meeting, Prioritization Workshop and Preliminary Engineering Technical Memorandum review
teleconference. Additonal meetings can be provided as a supplemental service.
Task 2.2 --- Preliminary Engineering
Engineer will conduct an evaluation of the needed improvements to confirm that the most cost
effective and longterm alternatives are selected for final design. A preliminary list of
improvements includes replacement of existing sodium hypochlorite bulk storage, metering and
transfer pumps and addition of a day tank either by replacement in -kind or using a bulk sodium
hypochlorite system; replacement of the hydrogen gas detection system; adding an overhead door
to each the sodium hypochlorite room and fluoride room in the locations of the existing knock -out
walls; and replacement of fluoride bulk storage tanks. The evaluation will include development
and presentation of up to two recommended concepts per item listed. The evaluation assumes that
the recommended improvements can be installed using the existing knock -out walls in the sodium
hypochlorite and fluoride rooms and does not include a structural evaluation of the building. If
deemed necessary, a structural analysis of the building can be provided as a supplemental service.
Page 2
(Exhibit A — Engineer's services)
EJCDC E-500 Agreement Between Owner and Engineer for Professional Services
Copyright © 200A National Society of Professional Engineers for EJCDC.
