Engineer shall perform or furnish the following Additional Services:
A. Construction Administration:
At the time the original Owner -Engineer Agreement was prepared it was anticipated that an
inspector from City of South Bend Engineering would be conducting majority of the Construction
Inspection/Administration for the Charles Black Center and that JPR would be assisting on an as
needed basis. However, during the actual construction opeartions of the Charles Black Center the
necessary time requirement and services provided by JPR will exceed the originally anticipated
scope and fees for the following reasons:
1. The City inspector has limited experience with building construction and has relied on JPR
to assist them with contractor questions, requests for additional information and project
research.
2. The destructuctive investigation during construction has revealed several unforeseen
conditions which have required JPR to conduct extra site visits to solve the various
challenges.
3. Additional consulting :services are required to assist with color and material selections for
both interior and exterial facets of the building.
4. The complexitiy of the building changed during the development of the design in both size
and cost. This has increased shop drawing submittal review and associated construction
administration to more than was originally anticipated.
- Page 1
(Exhibit K - (Amendment to Owner -Engineer Agreement) - Attachment t)
EJCDC E-500 Agreement Between owner and Engineer for Professional Services.
Copyright 0 2008 National Society of Professional Engineers for EJCDC.
