REGULAR MEETING MAY 14, 2007 <br />project is estimated at $3,094,000. The new hotel will be constructed with modern <br />conveniences such as a conference room, swimming pool, and exercise room. The <br />estimated square footage of the project is 43,368. Mr. Feeney further advised that <br />Chapter 2, Article 6, Section 2-81.1 of the South Bend Municipal Code allows for tax <br />abatement for hoteUmotel development in the Central Business District, East Bank <br />Development Area and the Airport Economic Development Area. The Petitioner is <br />requesting a special exception for the hotel which will be located outside of those areas. <br />It is estimated that the total project will create eleven (11) new, permanent, full time jobs <br />and four (4) new, permanent, part-time jobs within the first year representing a new <br />annual payroll of $200,000. <br />A Public Hearing was held on the Resolution at this time. <br />There being no one present wishing to speak to the Council either in favor of or in <br />opposition to this Resolution, Councilmember Kirsits made a motion to adopt this <br />Resolution as amended.
