2 <br />The Board first reviewed the bids which were opened at the previous <br />meeting on April 23, 1956 for the Police Department and awarded the con- <br />tract to the Scherman Schaus- Freeman Company as follows: <br />6 1956 Studebaker Commander 8 Cylinder <br />Special Police Cars .....................$14,119.60 <br />Less discount and allowance,............ 4,807.26 <br />Net total price ...... $9,312.34 <br />ELECTRICAL DEPARTMENT <br />Ira Hunsberger, Superintendent of the Electrical Department, ap- <br />peared before the Board and matters pertaining to his department were <br />discussed. <br />Ira. Hunsberger recommends that a 4000 lumen light be installed at <br />the following locations, in keeping with the uniform lighting plan of <br />the Mayor. 2215 Inglewood Place at the alley, Lathrop Street & Beverly <br />Place, midway between Lathrop Street and Oakwood Blvd. on Beverly Pl., <br />Johnson & Sibley Streets, midway between Cushing St. and Riverside Dr. <br />on Beale Street, Solomon Avenue & Union Avenue , and Ironwood Drive and <br />Union Avenue. <br />Mr. Hunsberger brought to the attention of the Board, that the Indi- <br />ana Bell Telephone Company proposes to lay a multiple the conduit on <br />Main Street from Wayne Street to Washington Street. The Board now ap- <br />proves Mr. Hunsbergerts recommendation of the proposed construction. <br />C <br />Applications for the Police Department were examined and ordered <br />filed for the following :% Emery George Molnar and Ronald Steve Pawlak. <br />Applications for the Fire Department were examined and ordered <br />filed for the following: Benedict Martin Kasznia, Eugene John Mroz- <br />inski, Carl Anton Benko, Ervin Henry Wesolowski, Phil Joseph Kulczak, Jr. <br />and Henry Frank Ganus. <br />There being no further business to come before tl�e Board the meeting <br />was adjourned at 11:15 A.M.
