South Bend Redevelopment Commission <br />Rescheduled Regular Meeting November 2, 2010 <br />Administration has hired three people to <br />work there. The grant offers impetus to find <br />space to open the center. <br />Ms. Calvin said that the community is <br />demanding more programs. This fall they <br />will open their first nanotechnology program. <br />For that they need more labs. That's an <br />example of one program that needs the new <br />space. <br />Mr. Downes responded that he thinks it is <br />important to realize how the Ivy Tech <br />expansion is critically important to economic <br />development for the community. <br />Upon a motion by Ms. King, seconded by <br />Mr. Downes and unanimously carried, the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 2786 <br />and relocation expenses of $150,105 related <br />to acquisition of property in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. (202 & 130 E. <br />Sample Street, 125 & 127 E. Ohio Street, <br />Sinco Pools) <br />(4) Resolution No. 2792 approving and <br />accepting a counter offer for the <br />acquisition of property in the Airport <br />Economic Development Area. (905 -909 W. <br />Indiana Ave.) <br />Mr. Relos noted that on October 15 the <br />Commission approved Resolution No. 2783 <br />setting the offering price for 905 -909 W. <br />Indiana Avenue at $35,250, the average of <br />two independent appraisals. The owner has <br />submitted a counter offer in the amount of <br />$40,000. The property is a two - story, four <br />bedroom, 1506 sft single family home with <br />an adjacent lot.
