~~ <br />~` <br />~~~ %~ <br />PUBLIC WORKS AND PROPERTY VACATION COMMITTEE <br />09-13-10 <br />Chairperson David Varner, called the Public Works and Property Vacation Committee <br />meeting to order at 3:40 p.m. <br />Committee Members Present: David Varner, Tim Rouse, Tom LaFountain, Henry Davis <br />Other Councilmember's Present: Derek Dieter, Ann Puzzello, Oliver Davis, <br />Karen White, Al "Buddy" Kirsits <br />Other's Present: Mayor Luecke, Jeff Parrott, Rita Kopala, Kathleen Cekanski-Farrand, <br />Terry Meehan, Marty Wolfson, Sean Meehan <br />Agenda: Bill No. 48-10 -Alley Vacation -Main & Colfax <br />Chairperson Varner began discussion of Bill No. 48-10 by introducing Terry and Sean <br />Meehan the owners of Fiddler's Hearth to make a presentation. They said they would <br />like the alley vacated to allow an outdoor dining area. The alley presently is not a <br />through alley; and is used only for deliveries to three businesses and for placement of <br />trash bins. According to the Council Attorney a record of appropriate easements directed <br />by the Board of Public Works has been filed and the BPW has given subsequent <br />favorable recommendation. After brief discussion Tom LaFountain motioned the bill be <br />sent with a favorable recommendation. Councilmember Rouse seconded and all <br />affirmed. <br />Under miscellaneous Council President Dieter asked Mr. Meehan if he had been <br />contacted by the city about sidewalk repair in front of his place. President Dieter said he <br />would get the ball rolling on this. <br />Chairperson Varner announced at Information & Technology Meeting would beheld on <br />Monday, October 4, 2010 at 5:30 p.m. in the Council Caucus Room to discuss upgrades <br />to the video-recording system. <br />There being no further business to come before the committee at this time, Chairperson <br />Varner adjourned the meeting at 3:50 p.m. <br />
