Service Connections with Mains 1 Rdt1 _ WHEREAS, the Board of Public Works on the ............. day of ... .... 192 .. - did alopt a resolutioa ordering and requiring the permanent improvement of high street Street kom .... Indiana Ave. Street to.. ls>rring Ave Street, by paving the roadway the same, and WHEREAS, the City Civil Engineer has prepared and filed in the office of this Board a report showing the number and location of the service pipes, mains, conduit, lateral;, and eoaaections which are, or will be necessary to acccumceate the abutting property and the owners thereof with gas, water. sever, and other converierces and neccss.ries: and also said City Givil Engineer has prepared and filed in said cALce specifications showing the material to be used and the maner of laying said service pipes msims, coaJuits. laterals and connections from the mains to the points in- side the curb lines. THEREFORE, be it resolved by the Board of Public Werkes of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the report of the City Civil Engineer is ae'cpted, and ra'd report ar.d the specifcsticr:s prepared and fled by him are made a part of this resolution as fully and effectually as if copied herein at full length; and it is fur- ther ordered that all of such private connections with the sewer, gas, and water mains be made in said street by -bringing them inside the curb lines thereof. And be it further resolved that notice by pjblication fur two successive days in South Bend Tribune & Mews. Times. a newspaper of general circulation printed ar.d publ shed in the City of South Bend Indiana, be given tothe owners of the property abutting upon said street to be improved directing them to make such sewer and water connections .on or before the 13th., I day of May 1924. 192 —, and that if said connections are not made on or before said time and in accordance with the speci- fications and report on file in the office of the Board of the Public Works, then said Board will cause the same to be made and will asses the cost thereof against the property abutting open said street, and shall do all other things pertaining thereto according to the prcvisiors and regrirrrenis of Ordinance No. 1842 adopted by the Common Council of the City of South Bend on JLly 24, 1916, ar.d cf all ether crdinar•ces and law relating thereto. And, be it further resolved and ordered that after the 20 day reriod has elapsed fcr the making cf said connection by the property owners, a notice shall be pubhshA for two weeks, trice each week, in the Tribune do News Times , a news general publ'shd in said city. requesting South Bend paper of neral circulation bids from contraetors for the making of such connections as have not been made by the property owners, and such notice shall fix a day, not earlier than ten days after the first of such publications, when bids shall be opened and a contract let for the doing of said work. And be it further ordered that the Northern Indiana Gas and Electric Ccrrpary, which holds a fran- chise from, and is a n»w_-rc 1 by slid city to farais4 artificial gas to the citizens thereof, and is engaged in said bj:;6e3`s, is siil city, is hereby directed to make and install all service connections with its mains in said Street in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1555 adopted June 27 1910 and such other ordi- nances or laws applicable thereto; which connections are :hcmn txcn the repc►t cf Ile City Civil Engineer, and which are hereby declared to be necessary in supplying gas to the owner of property abutting upon said street.
