234, 0 Service Connections with Mains 1342. WHEREAS, the Board of Publc Works on the ............. day of ... 192 did alopt a resalutioa ordering and requiring the permanent improvement of , Fos Street. i saw from Michigan St. .Street to.. Fellows- St . Street, by paving the roadway the same, and WHEREAS, the City Civil Figiu m has prepared and filed in the office of'this Board a report showing the number and location of the service pipes, mama. e»Kwft laterals, and connections which are, or will be necessary to accorr.mccate the abutting property and the oween thereof with gas, water, sewer; and other conveniences and neccss:!ries: and also said . City Givil Engineer has prepared and filed in said office specifications showing the materal to be used and the maner of laying said s•-rwiee p►p� m�s, conduits, laterals and connections from the mains to the points in- side the curb lines. THEREFORE, be it rewived by the Board of Public . Workes of the City of South Bend, Indiana, that the report of the City Civil Ergieecr is secpted, and sa`d report ar:d the specificet cr.s prepared and f.lYd by him are made a part of this nmolstbon as fully and effectually as if copied herein at full length; and it is fur- ther ordered that all of such private eanxdions with the sewer, gas, and water mains be made in said street by bringing them inside the curb Cores thereof. And be it further resolved that notice by publication fc r two suet(ssve days in South Bend Tribune & News Times., a newspaper of general circulation printed and publshed in the City of South Bend Indiana, be given to the owners of the property abutting upon said street to be improved directing them to make such sewer and water connections on or before the 13th. 0 day of May 1924. 192 and that if said connections are not trade on or before said time and in accordance with the speci- fications and report on file in the office of the Board of the Public Wcrks, then said Board will cause the same to be made and will asses the cost thereof against the property abutting upcn said street, and shall do all other things pertaining thereto according to the provisions and requirments cf Ordinance No. 1842 adopted by the Common Council of the City of South Pend on July 24, 1916, and cf Ell cthcr crdinances and law relating thereto. And. be it further resolved • and ordered that after the 20 day Fenod has elepsed fcr the making cf said connection by the property owners, a notice s%-A be publish=d for two weeks, trice each week, in the South Bend Tribune & Iyews Times. , a newspaper of general circulation publ-shd in said city, regnestirg bids from contraetors for the making of such connections as have not been made by the property oN>ners, and such notice shall fix a day, not earlier than ten days after the first of such publications, when bids sham be opened and a contract let for the doing of said work. And be it further ordered that the Northern Indiana Gas and Electric Ccmpany, which holds a fran. chise from, and isen»w�rel by said city to furnish artificial gas to the citizens thereof, and is engaged in said business is SIN city, is h-!re')y directed to mike and install all service connections with its mains in said street in accordance with the provisions of Ordinance No. 1555 adopted June 27 1910 and such other ordi- nances or laws applicable thereto; which ecnneeticrs zre :hewn tpcn the rcFut cf de City Civil Engineer, and which are hereby declared to be necessary in supplying gas to the owner of property abutting upcn said street.
